Getac S400 Semi-rugged Notebook Specification - Getac introduced its latest notebook, the semi-rugged S400 designed for utilities, public safety, field service, and military applications. Key features include a 700 NITS brightness display with glove-friendly multi-touch technology, a Core i5 2.4~2.93GHz dual-core processor, and optional Gobi 2000 mobile broadband.

The S400 is powered by either Intel Core i5-520M or Core i3-350M processor,2GB DDR3 RAM (max 8GB), and integrated Intel GMA HD graphics (optional 512MB nVidia GeForce G310M) It packs a 320GB SATA hard drive or optional 80GB SSD, a DVD SuperMulti drive and a 4-in-1 card reader.

The S400 also offers an integrated Smart Card reader and fingerprint reader to meet security requirements by government and corporate data management departments. Additionally, the S400 can be configured with Intel vPro technology, enabling IT specialists to maximize hardware-assisted security to better maintain, manage, and protect business PCs. Programmable hot keys can be custom set to trigger common actions or act as an emergency key for safety applications. The S400 was designed to be wirelessly connected and features a host of wireless options from Bluetooth and WLAN to 3G WWAN.

The new S400 starts at $1,799 MSRP* and will begin shipping at the end of November. The S400 is backed by a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.
